JAIST Library provides the online edition of "Lecture notes in computer science (LNCS)". You can browse the fulltexts of LNCS published from 2005 to current on the web.
It will give us much pleasure if you make heavy use of LNCS for your research.

Halt of NACSIS-ILL service

ILL service (within Japan) will be halt for the period as follows. Therefore you can not order photocopying or book borrowing from other universities for this period. Restriction on the use of the materials in the library for inventory

The inventory will be conducted according to the following schedule. During the inventory, we will place off-limits with ropes, and partially restrict library users' access to the shelves for a fixed time. If you want to use a material in the off-limits areas, please notify library staff.
And during the period of inventory, the materials of library left on the desks or tables will be returned to the shelves for smooth operation.

The change of Newspaper & Journal's location in the Browsing Corner (JAIST Library 1F)

Newspapers and journals in the browsing corner will be relocated to the following place.

[Newspapers] : Relocate from August 18.
(Scheduled arrival date of new rack)
  • Today's paper will be put in newspaper binders and placed on the new rack in the Browsing Corner.
  • 1-2days old newspapers are placed at the same place in the Browsing Corner as before.
[Journals] : Relocate from July 22.
  • Latest volume of the journals will be placed at the New Journals Corner on the 3rd floor in the library and other journals are placed at the same place in the Browsing Corner as before.

We have been arranging all our books and journals in open stacks for providing 24-hour comfortable environment.
And this changes are for preventing the prohibited use, such as an unauthorized borrowing or cutting of the materials.

It is the online database of academic documents from the most influential and high-quality journals. It is supported by researchers in the world.
The greatest characteristic of "Web of Science" is links to cited references. By them, it is possible to search for necessary information in interdisciplinary field effectively.
Full Record page of the paper includes links to outside information sources, e-journal and impact factor, etc. Selected data of citations is available for various purposes such as research, education and evaluation of research.

Binding Academic Journals (June 23 to August 11)

We are planning to bind academic journals published in 2006 and before as following schedule.
Therefore for some period you can not browse or borrow those journals.

* Binding Materials : Those published in 2006 and combined one published in 2005 and 2006
* Duration : June 23 to August 11

The binding of all materials is scheduled to be completed around July 31. We will relocate them in the stacks in order soon after the registration has been completed.

Borrowing books from the public libraries in Ishikawa prefecture

It became possible to borrow books from the public libraries in Ishikawa prefecture through the JAIST library (free of charge).
Please apply by using the application form (on this page) after confirming that the book you want to borrow is in the public library in Ishikawa prefecture by "石川県内図書館横断検索 (in Japanese)".


Qualification Faculties and Students belonging to JAIST Tatsunokuchi Campus
Available books Only books in the public libraries in Ishikawa prefecture and libraries of Ishikawa Prefectural University, Ishikawa Prefectural Nursing University and Kanazawa University
Time for the book to arrive About 1 to 2 weeks
Loan period It depends on the rule of each library.

Introduction of "Inspec on ISI Web of Knowledge"

JAIST Library provides "Inspec on ISI Web of Knowledge". It uses "ISI Web of Knowledge" platform which is used for "Web of Science". (For details: Click Here)

Users of "Inspec on Ovid" are recommended to use "Inspec on ISI Web of Knowledge", because "Inspec on Ovid" will no longer be available as of March 31, 2008.

How to renew the materials

It became possible to renew the materials in the library by MyLibrary too. Please refer to the following URL about the way to renew the materials from MyLibrary.

In addition, you can renew the materials at the library information desk too as usual. Please bring them and the student ID (or some form of personal ID) to the library information desk by 5:00 p.m. on the due date.

<NOTE>
1.

When you renew the materials by MyLibrary, please do the procedure by 5:00 p.m. on the due date.
After the procedure is completed, the due date will be extended.
2.

The renewal is only allowed once. And if the material is reserved by anyone, you cannot renew it.
Please return it at once.
3.

If the material you want to renew is overdue, you cannot renew it by MyLibrary. Please bring it to the library information desk.

Construction of the Library

The construction for replacing the carpet on the 1st floor and repairing the lights on 2nd and 3rd floor will be held as bellow. We apologize for any inconvenience, and we appreciate your understanding.
