Digital Delivery Service (DDS)


On October 30, 2003, we start to provide the new photocopy service for faculties as "Digital Delivery Service (DDS)". (This service is not available for students.)
Only if JAIST library has the material including the article you need, we convert the article to PDF and directly deliver it to you by e-mail as an attachment.
This service relieves you of the bother of coming to the library, seeking a material, and taking a photocopy.

(Procedure)
1. Confirm that the material including the article you need exists in JAIST library by using OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue).

2. Fill out the application form for DDS and send by e-mail.
 *To request a form and apply, please send an e-mail to the following address.
 [ lib-dds@jaist.ac.jp ]

3. After you receive the document and print it out, delete the attachment.

(Notices)
a) The digital file format is PDF.
     *Please let us know when you cannot open the attachment for some reason.
      We print out the document and keep it in the box for photocopying on the information desk. Please pick it up.

b) The service hours of DDS is from 9:00am to 5:00pm on weekdays. In case of the overtime application, it is dealt with on the next workday.

c) DDS covers the materials only in JAIST library.
    The following materials are unavailable for DDS.
     *Materials in the laboratories or centers
     *The current issues of journals that less than 3 months have passed since they were published.

d) Color pages are scanned in black and white.

e) The attachment should be properly treated according to the copyright low.
    Please be sure to keep the following items.
     *Do not copy the attachment.
     *Do not send the attachment to others or off-campus terminals.
     *Delete the attachment as soon as you print it out.
