Talk: Building a Foundation for Sustainable Electronic Governance -
Experience, Lessons, Framework
Speaker: Tomasz Janowski, Head, Center for Electronic Governance at
United Nations University IIST (UNU-IIST), tj@iist.unu.edu
Abstract: The talk will presents the e-Macao Program, a unique
government program to build a foundation for Electronic Government
development in Macao through a well-coordinated action framework
comprising: readiness assessment; software development; capacity
building for government workforce including technical, managerial and
leadership skills; dissemination and research. The talk will also
share various lessons learnt (strategic, institutional and
operational) and apply them to design a generic program framework for
sustainable Electronic Government development, well-suited to
addressing typical challenges present in developing countries.

Title: Business Integrity Management for Enterprises
Speaker: Michiharu Kudo, IBM Tokyo Research Lab., KUDO@jp.ibm.com
Abstract: The talk will present business integrity management
framework for enterprises that consists of integrated policy, process
and information management. Integrity is of growing concern to
government and businesses faced with increasingly stringent
regulations and continuing explosion of business information.
Addressing this challenge requires looking at a government and
enterprise in a fundamentally new way. Maintaining business integrity
requires well-formed policies implemented in correct and compliant
processes, based on accurate, consistent and properly managed
information.
