Director, Education for Working
Professionals-Tokyo Satellite
Since the period of Infection Rebound Prevention Measures in Tokyo has been over, we will change restrictions on the use of Tokyo Satellite as follows. We will still shorten the opening hours of the Tokyo Satellite and restrict the use of facilities in order to protect the health and safety of all the students and faculty members and prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
1 Opening hours and use of facilities
<For the time being from November 1, 2021 >
Opening hours : 10:30 - 18:30 weekdays
9:30 - 17:00 weekends and holidays
Regardless of the above, faculty members who conduct face-to-face lectures and students who are allowed to take face-to-face lectures are able to use lecture rooms during lecture time that they are allowed to conduct or attend.
https://www.jaist.ac.jp/satellite/sate/wp/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/schedule202111.pdf
- The lectures will be conducted in case1, 2, or 3 shown below.
Instructors who are going to take either case 1 or 2 are requested to contact us (sate@ml.jaist.ac.jp) in advance so that we can prepare equipment necessary for the lectures.
Case1: Hybrid-Flexible Method using both face-to-face and simultaneous distribution using Webex
・Lectures are given in a lecture room by an instructor as simultaneously distributing them with Webex.
・Students choose one, face-to-face or simultaneously distributed lecture, whichever suits them.
There are restrictions on the number of students who can take face-to-face lectures. Please follow the instructions given by each instructor.
Case2: Hybrid-Flexible Method using both face-to-face and simultaneous distribution using JAIST-LMS
・Lectures are given in a lecture room by an instructor as simultaneously distributing them with JAIST-LMS.
The video and audio of the class from the lecture room will be broadcast live using simultaneous distribution function of JAIST-LMS.
・We are able to prepare only standard-level equipment for the simultaneous distribution of the lectures.
If specialized equipment or method is necessary, we may ask the instructors to manage it themselves.
・Students choose one, face-to-face or simultaneously distributed lecture, whichever suits them.
There are restrictions on the number of students who can take face-to-face lectures. Please follow the instructions given by each instructor.
*Only the voice in the front side of the lecture room can be heard. (Voice of participating students cannot be heard.)
Case3: Online lecture only (Simultaneous distribution using Webex)
・Instructors give a lecture in a lecture room or other rooms as simultaneously distributing it with Webex.
・Students watch the lecture in different places from the room where the lecture is conducted.

(Sample)
How to reserve the lounge:

- JAIST faculty members may use the Tokyo Satellite for meetings with students.
In principle, online meetings with students are recommended in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections. If it is necessary for faculty members on Ishikawa Campus to come to the Tokyo Satellite and conduct face-to-face meetings with students, take sufficient preventative measures against the COVID-19. After returning to Ishikawa Campus, monitor your health and if you are unwell such as have a fever, email the Crisis Management (kikikanri@ml.jaist.ac.jp) immediately and do not go to the campus.
When using the Tokyo Satellite for meetings with students, reservation is required to avoid three Cs. There are restrictions on available space, time and number of users.
