" Jaist Library News " is published on an irregular basis and provide you with information about Library services and materials.

According to the NII's announcement, NACSIS-ILL service will be halt for the period as follows. Therfore you can't order of photocopying and book borrowing (from other university) for this period.

If you want to get some articles or books through ILL service by the end of this year, you are requested to order by 12:00 p.m., December 21.

• Usual service : by December 27, 2000 (until 5:00 p.m.)

• Halt of NACSIS-ILL service: from December 28, 2000 to January 4, 2001

• Starting of service: from January 5, 2001

JAIST Library provides accountable information service of Enjoy JOIS(Web edition JST Online Information System) on following URL. (You can access it through the library web site "Outside Database".)Enjoy JOIS is academic information database of various academic categories.
Trial regulations do not permit anything but search service.

Duration : until Dec. 27, 2000
( * You will be able to access it by free from January 5, 2001 because JAIST Library made a contract with JST. )

JAIST Library provides the service of ordering photocopy from JST(Japan Science and Technology Corporation) by public payment only.
If you find the paper by searching Enjoy JOIS(Web edition JST Online Information System), fill in the application form for photocopying.(Reference number, article number and material number are mandatory.)
If your laboratory is a current user, please use Enjoy JOIS at fixed charge for search only and order photocopy in several as usual.

* If you want to know the cost, please ask the library staff.

* When the literature you need is available through ILL system, you are recommended to use this cost saving system.

1. Don't leave your valuables unattended.
2. Don't occupy carrels or the seat of the reading room for many hours.
3. After you've finished with books or journals, put them back in the correct place. In particularly return non-circulation materials immediately.
   If you can't find the designated shelf, place the books or journals in the "Return Rack".
4. Be quiet.
5. No eating, drinking or smoking.
