The Opening Ceremony of the VNU-JAIST Dual Graduate Program for Master’s and Doctoral Program 2007 in the field of Nano Science and Technology was held at Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-Hanoi) on October 19, 2007. The VNU-JAIST Dual Graduate Program started since 2005 and 10 master’s program students and 6 doctoral program students enter VNU-Hanoi in this October. The students will receive the scholarship from Vietnamese Government and attend the lectures offered by the faculty members of JAIST in person or via remote education system between Hanoi University of Science (VNU-Hanoi) and JAIST. The students will transfer to JAIST after taking courses at VNU-Hanoi and continue their research under the supervision of their supervisors at JAIST.
The Opening Ceremony was live broadcasted with the remote learning system. During the Ceremony, Vice Minister of Ministry of Education and Training-Vietnam, Prof. Mai Trong Nhuan, President of VNU-Hanoi delivered their speeches and Prof. Mikio Miyake, Dean of School of Materials Science of JAIST made a speech and congratulate the new students with gifts from JAIST. From JAIST, President Sukekatsu Ushioda congratulated the new students and encouraged them to study hard for their future achievements in this program. A series of intensive lectures by JAIST faculty members starts on October 19 and will be carried out regularly.
