Osugi Musical Theatre will present its first community theater musical in November at the Osugi Nakamachi Gekkijo in the hills of south-eastern Komatsu. Written and directed by Gart T. Westerhout, "Uta no Sato Osugi Okoku" is a fantasy set in a medieval Euro-Japanese village.

The Osugi Nakamachi Gekkijo, a former community center, is now being transformed into the kingdom of Osugi. The actors will perform not only on the stage but in and around the audience. There are plenty of odd characters, including a tone-deaf king, a travelling wood elf, a vengeful spinstress, and two witches. The cast of 20 ranges in age from 5 to 58. About 20 staff members are working on set, costumes, lights, and publicity.

Tickets will go on sale for 800 yen each on October 1. Seating is limited to 110 people per performance, so playgoers are advised to get their tickets early. Tickets are available from cast and staff members, Seibu, and AL Plaza, Oyakku Gekkijo, New Stage of Komatsu, or by calling 0761-46-1824.

　「大杉ミュージカルシアター」は、11月、小松市東部にある大杉中町劇場で初めての公演を行う。大杉中町劇場、元公民館は長い眠りから覚めた。脚本、演出はガート・ウエスターハウト氏。
　登場人物は音痴の王様や森の妖精や復讐に燃える女、魔女など多彩。キャストは6歳から58歳まで20人。それを支えるスタッフ20人。
　チケットは800円。客席は110人で先着順。10月1日から西武デパート、アルプラザ、親子劇場、劇場関係者から、または電話で手に入れることができる。
