Abstract:
Unequal distribution of knowledge refers to knowledge gap, which lead to unequal economic growth and health well-being [WHO, 2004]. This knowledge gaps exist between service employees, service mediators, and service recipients. Therefore, it is needed to provide strategies and models to reduce knowledge gaps for equal improvement in economic development and human well-being. This study explored healthcare knowledge diffusion management eco-system based on potential stakeholders' HKD activities, and developed HKD model and build knowledge centric strategies to improve health services and quality of life. To do so, we used a qualitative research approach as case study of BRAC healthcare program in Bangladesh to find initiatives, strategies and activities that healthcare providers doing in order to diffuse healthcare knowledge among rural peoples. Data has been collected through interview with selected Shasthya Sebika's (SS's) of BRAC healthcare program in Bangladesh. We used semi-structured questionnaire during interview with SS's. Result shows that, the study identified the dynamics of HKD management in pluralistic health system in Bangladesh. Several stakeholders are engaged in HKD with SS and improving health well-being where the proportion of SS is higher than others stakeholder. In addition, SS have high proportion of engagement with rural patients which co-create value, reduces knowledge gap between SS's and rural patients, and improving health well-being. The process of knowledge diffusion widely studied in many fields. But, knowledge diffusion to improve public health services and quality of life of rural people is relatively new method in health care services. In addition, HKD would remain in the mainstream of service sustainability and build a healthy society among rural communities that will help to build a knowledge society and enhances to reduce health disparities and improve community health with quality of life.
