The JAIST Computer Olympiad
The annual Computer Olympiad, first held in London in 1989, gives programs the chance to compete for the title of world's best computer player. Previous title holders include Neurogammon (Backgammon, 1989), Chinook (Checkers, 1989, 1990) and Tacos (Shogi, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009). The Olympiad is presently organised by the International Computer Games Association (ICGA).
Entrants are invited for the following games: Amazons, Backgammon, Bridge, Chess, Computational Pool, Connect6, Chinese Chess, Dots and boxes, International draughts, 19×19 Go, 9×9 Go, Hex, Havannah, Lines of Action, Shogi, and Surakarta. The Olympiad would like to host more games: please contact the organisers for more information.
The 15th Computer Olympiad 2010 will be held in Kanazawa, Japan, (dates to be confirmed) hosted by Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST).
